Job type: Contract, part-time

Compensation: $30-$40/hr, depending on experience

Desired start date: April 3

Red Cypress Consulting seeks a Digital Communication Strategist to support its clients in getting their message out, using digital technology and winning progressive change. This is an ideal position for an ambitious strategic thinker looking for a high-growth opportunity with a fast-paced, young company. This is a six-month, half-time, contract position with the potential to grow into a full time position.

Responsibilities

  • Proactively propose creative strategies to help clients achieve their organizational goals

  • Research digital engagement technologies and tactics and make recommendations to clients

  • Manage client social media accounts and websites, including draft and publishing content

  • Manage project timelines and internal project management systems

  • Collaborate with Principal in developing campaign strategies, plans and messaging

  • Provide hands-on support and training to clients in use of digital technology

  • Interface with media, including pitching reporters and coordinating interviews

  • Draft and edit reports and slide decks with strategic recommendations for clients

Required Qualifications

  • Excellent writing skills

  • Strong research skills

  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills

  • Ability to think strategically

  • Ability to work on tight deadlines and manage multiple priorities

  • College degree or comparable work experience

  • Deeply held progressive values and passion for social justice

Desired Qualifications

  • Experience managing websites, social media accounts, email lists, and other digital communication tools

  • Experience with community organizing, activism and/or policy advocacy

  • Experience with media relations and/or communications strategy

  • Experience with project management tools and practices

  • Basic graphic design skills

  • Basic HTML/CSS skills

  • Deep understanding of anti-racism and anti-racist practices

  • Spanish fluency
